Flexible PCB supplier Career Technology expects its sales to peak in the fourth quarter of 2014, buoyed by increasing shipments of FPCBs to the wearable device sector. 


Having landed FPCB orders from a number of brand vendors, Career also expects FPCB shipments to the wearable device segment to account for 10% of its total sales in 2014. 


The rising popularity of wearable devices and the migration from 3G smartphones to 4G models offer more challenges as well as opportunities to FPCB makers, said Career president Wu Yung-hui. 


Being a major FPCB supplier for iPad and iPhone, Career has also been actively diversifying its client base and has entered the handset supply chains for Huawei and Xiaomi Technology, according to industry sources. 


The launch of new iPhones from Apple and the Mi4 from Xiaomi will ramp up Career's sales in the second half of 2014, particularly during the October-November period, said the sources.
